Create the Fun!
We're eager to work with you. We want it to be easy for you to volunteer at the Birmingham AG. Spend just a little time helping to make the 2007 AG a great party for everyone, and you'll know that this successful event is partially yours -- you'll be part of making the fun happen. And your assistance will be greatly appreciated! Hospitality is an integral part of this AG and in Region 5 we place a special emphasis on all aspects of hospitality. We need folks to make homemade goodies to share and we need individuals or a group of individuals to work shifts in hospitality. Smiling, friendly faces are needed for both Registration and the Action Desk. Registration is the introduction most people get to the AG and we want them to feel welcome from the start. Individuals with questions or problems go to the Action Desk, and your input will help them see a satisfactory resolution to their quandaries. We need team members to help with speakers and programs. Speakers need to be introduced and, if they're non-Mensans, need to be greeted upon arrival and escorted to their speaking location. We also need folks to check the meeting rooms and make sure they are properly set up with the appropriate audio visual equipment and seating arrangements. Joe Zanca is providing Mensa Boutique and AG merchandise to attendees. He would appreciate some good sales people to help man his tables. You'll get to meet even more attendees as Joe's space is always an attention getter. Moving into and out of the AG hotel is always a monumental task since there is a much larger volume of "stuff" than is associated with an RG. If you have a strong back and lots of enthusiasm, this is the place for you. And there are other possibilities for making this an all-volunteer AG! Just ask us or suggest something. All of our volunteer shifts will operate in approximately four-hour time blocks. I would like to volunteer!
I would like to cook for Hospitality.
I would like to be a speaker shepherd.
I would like to help with the Volunteer Desk.
